A few years ago, we noticed a universal dilemma: Consumers and companies, alike, were drowning in digital noise. Cold emails went unanswered; apps got deleted; ads were ignored. Companies struggled with finding innovative ways to rise above the noise and build more meaningful relationships with prospects, customers, and fellow employees.

Companies already invest hundreds of billions of dollars into corporate gifting, direct mail, and swag. In fact, our data shows that businesses sent 66% more items in 2018 than the year before.

Direct mail is easier to understand and more memorable than digital media, while psychology tells us that people feel obliged to give back after receiving a gift. Not to mention that more than 80% of consumers report that they feel positive about receiving packages in the mail.

But orchestrating the logistics of those campaigns is difficult. Companies struggle with finding quality vendors; storing items, and tracking inventory; packing and shipping bulk orders; calculating the ROI of their efforts; and personalizing tangible communications at scale. Not to mention the impossible task of operationalizing this to hundreds or thousands of teammates and integrating it into CRM and other siloed data sources.

From handwriting letters and hand-delivering gifts to managing logistics and analyzing performance, this was a pain we felt personally as marketers, salespeople, customer success teams, and even HR reps. How was it possible that no one had created a solution for scaling physical touchpoints before?

And this week, we couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that we closed more than $10 million in Series A funding in a round was led by Craft Ventures, the venture firm founded co-founded by David Sacks, with participation from Signia Partners, Storm Ventures, Struck Capital, and Hack VC. This represents a huge step for our company and will allow us to scale operations in all of our offices, as well as build our platform even further with big data and predictive analytics.
